NIX Solutions: Telegram Premium Hits 15M Users

The number of Telegram users subscribed to Premium has reached 15 million. This was reported by the founder of the messenger, Pavel Durov, on his Telegram channel. According to him, the number of paid subscribers has doubled over the past year.

“Telegram Premium now has more than 15 million paid subscribers. The number has doubled in just one year. Thank you for switching to Premium,” Durov shared in his message.

Previously, in September of last year, Durov announced that the number of Premium users had exceeded 10 million. At that time, he also introduced new features and revealed the discontinuation of some previously available tools. Among the changes was the removal of the “People Nearby” feature, which had existed since 2019. However, it was used by only 0.1% of Telegram users and therefore was not considered essential to keep developing.

Subscription Growth and Features

Telegram Premium was officially launched in June 2022. The paid version of the messenger offers several enhancements, including faster file downloads, increased upload size limits of up to 4 GB, the ability to disable ads, voice message transcription, access to expanded sticker sets, and more.

By December 2022, Telegram had already gained its first million Premium subscribers, reminds NIX Solutions. Since then, interest in the subscription has steadily increased, with user numbers growing significantly year over year.

The continued growth in Premium subscriptions suggests strong user interest in advanced features and a willingness to support Telegram’s ongoing development. While not all past tools have been retained, the platform continues to evolve based on user demand and overall engagement.
